What is the Build-A-Bear NFT Collection?

Build-A-Bear Workshop has partnered with Sweet, an NFT platform, to create an on-line marketplace where you can bid on, purchase, and sell non-fungible tokens (“NFTs”) associated with authentic Build-A-Bear Workshop digital collectibles.

What are digital collectibles or NFTs?

A digital collectible is similar to a physical collectible, but in digital format. To ensure each digital collectible’s unique authenticity, Sweet uses blockchain technology to demonstrate rights of ownership and authenticity. This is similar to receiving a "certificate of authenticity" with unique physical merchandise like a signed baseball card. For more information, please check out Sweet's FAQ in its Help Center here.

We are always looking to innovate and celebrate! Our 25th anniversary celebration gives us an opportunity to do something special with you in an emerging space, and we have partnered with Sweet to create our own limited-edition NFT. We are also working on a roadmap for future NFTs for our fans who want to engage with our brand.

Are my collectibles unique?

Every digital collectible is individually-numbered, and trackable on the public blockchain with records of authenticity. It might be unique with only one created, or it might be individually numbered and part of a limited series. Sweet creates each collectible series on the public blockchain, including the total number available. Once created, the series cannot be edited or changed by any party, including Sweet or Build-A-Bear. The public blockchain also stores a permanent record of who created it, and every owner. For those digital collectibles with associated physical bears, the physical bears are inspired by the digital collectible, but may not be an exact replica of the digital collectible.

Offer valid only for the first purchaser of the NFT from Build-A-Bear Workshop. Subsequent purchasers of the NFT are ineligible. All elements of offer must be redeemed on or before May 31, 2023. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Build-A-Bear reserves the right to change date of offer element redemption. If the NFT owner (i) does not respond to any communication from Build-A-Bear within five (5) days of such communication; (ii) refuses the offer; and/or (iii) any communication to the NFT owner regarding the offer is rejected or returned as undeliverable, the offer is void. Brick content subject to approval by Build-A-Bear. Private Build-A-Bear store party is for up to five (5) individuals and includes: one (1) furry friend for each guest (value up to $36), one (1) clothing item, one (1) footwear item, one (1) sound, and one (1) bear carrier. All other expenses not stated herein as part of the party are the NFT owner’s sole responsibility. Party offer is subject to mall and/or store location hours restrictions. NFT owner is solely responsible for all resources required to participate in the virtual sneak peek, including, without limitation, cameras, viewing devices and internet access. By accepting offer, NFT owner agrees to release, indemnify, defend and hold harmless Build-A-Bear Workshop, Inc., Build-A-Bear Foundation and each of their respective promotional partners, agencies, parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, and each of their respective agents, representatives, officers, directors, franchisees, shareholders and employees from and against any injuries, losses, damages, claims, actions and any liability of any kind resulting from or arising from participation in offer (including any travel or travel-related activity thereto).

The delivery of the physical Build-A-Bears associated with auction won NFTs will be the responsibility of Build-A-Bear. Build-A-Bear will contact the purchasers via email listed in the purchaser’s Sweet account to arrange delivery. The physical Build-A-Bears will be delivered by a national or international delivery service, to the address provided by the auction winners. Build-A-Bear accepts no responsibility or liability for any delays, damages or other issues with delivery. If the purchaser (i) does not respond to any communication from Build-A-Bear within five (5) days of such communication; (ii) refuses the physical bear offer; and/or (iii) any communication to the purchaser regarding the physical bear offer is rejected or returned as undeliverable, the physical bear offer is void.

Absolutely! You can do so on the Sweet platform. However, keep in mind that you must have the Build-A-Bear NFT in your Sweet.io wallet to unlock access to future opportunities and experiences. Trading your NFT away may jeopardize your access.

Yes, you may send your NFT to an external wallet.

Note: At this time, Sweet does not support return transfers to the Sweet platform.

Your NFT will be housed in your digital wallet, available by logging into your account with Build-A-Bear’s partner, Sweet.

Yes. The NFTs will be available to trade, transfer, or resell. However, any additional utility or perks such as a physical bear, are granted only to the original purchaser and are valid only while the original purchaser holds the NFT in the purchaser’s Sweet wallet. No utility will be renewed, granted, or transferred to any subsequent owner of the NFT.

All Build-A-Bear NFTs will be minted on the carbon neutral Polygon blockchain.

The Gala Trip Offer is valid only for the first purchaser from Build-A-Bear Workshop. Subsequent purchasers are ineligible. Gala Trip Offer is valid only within the continental United States and includes: One (1) night’s hotel accommodations (one (1) standard double occupancy room) at a hotel selected by Build-A-Bear; Round trip coach class airfare for up to two (2) individuals within the continental United States (from a major getaway airport closest to the NFT purchaser’s home in the continental United States to/from St. Louis, MO); and two (2) tickets to the Build-A-Bear Workshop Silver Celebration Gala. All other expenses not stated herein as part of the trip offer are the purchaser’s sole responsibility. Except where prohibited by law, purchaser and guest may be required to execute a liability and publicity release as a condition of receiving the Gala Trip Offer. Offer excludes all other expenses or incidentals including, but not limited to, ground transportation, food (except during the Silver Celebration Gala), baggage fees, alcoholic beverages, gratuities and tips, insurance, laundry service, merchandise, parking, room service, service charges, souvenirs and telephone calls. Purchaser and guest must possess and are responsible for obtaining and must have valid ID or other required documentation for travel. All guests must be 18 years of age or older at time of travel unless guest is a child or legal ward of the purchaser. Purchaser and guest are responsible for obtaining any travel insurance (and all other forms of insurance) that they may wish to obtain at their own expense and hereby acknowledges that Build-A-Bear has not and will not obtain or provide travel insurance or any other form of insurance. Purchaser and guest are bound by the terms and conditions of all airlines, hotels and other third-party service providers. Purchaser and guest must be available to travel on the dates specified by Build-A-Bear (currently planned for October 22 – 23, 2022) or trip offer is void. If the purchaser (i) does not respond to any communication from Build-A-Bear within five (5) days of such communication; (ii) refuses the trip offer; and/or (iii) any communication to the purchaser regarding the offer is rejected or returned as undeliverable, the Gala Trip Offer is void.
