As we continue to optimize the NHL Breakaway experience, we have transitioned to Stripe for all purchases and sales on the platform. For user-to-user sales, we’ve integrated Stripe Connect, which allows sellers to create their own merchant accounts for secure transactions.
As a seller on Stripe, you’ll be able to track your orders, view your order history, and manage payments directly. To make this possible, certain information is shared between buyers and sellers.
We understand that some users may prefer to keep their information private. To accommodate this, we’ve created this guideline outlining how you can remain anonymous as either a buyer or seller.
If you’d like to limit the information shared between you and other Stripe Connect users, please follow the steps below:
For Sellers
Login to your Stripe Dashboard https://dashboard.stripe.com/login
Click on “Profile” in the bottom left menu
Scroll down to “Statement Payout Descriptor” and update the value to “Sweet”
If you have a “Public Descriptor” field on your profile, also update that value to “Sweet”
This will be the public facing name of your “merchant account” as a seller on the platform
For Buyers
If your information is stored with Link, at checkout, click the “Pay without Link” button at the bottom of checkout
When completing payment details:
Sweet has set up a special email address you can use for checkout. Instead of providing your personal email, use “orders@nhlbreakaway.com”
For name, please use “Breakaway Purchase”
For address verification of your card, we recommend you use the zip code associated with your card billing address.
Order confirmations will be sent to the email address associated with your NHL Breakaway account as usual.
